I just received an update pop-up today that looks different from all
the others. No details button to explain what it's all about.
I've always wondered if virus writers would try to use the WIndows
Update mechanism to sneak their wares past the usual safeguards. Is
this an attempt to install malware?
When I mouse over the update icon in the systray, the text reads:
"Updates are ready for for your computer.
Click here to install these updates."
When I click it,. this window opens:

The wording just doesn't seem right, and this is the first I've
received that doesn't contain an explanation about what the updates
do.
I'm protected by a SMC cable router/firewall with all the security
features turned on, and a updated copies of Zonealarm Pro and Norton
AV 2002.
Is this updagte legimate? If yes, then what does it fix?
