Thanx for the reply. I'll check it out. Though, I must admit to being
bewildered at how i could violate a policy by providing a service. I
do not mean to charge for the product, just the download and
installation of it.

It isn't feasable to keep track of what goes on which computer. What I
would really want is a search agent that tells me which update to
install on which computer. Then, as you pointed out, check the KB
articles for the downloads, but I should already have them all on a
CD.

I'm basically wanting to help people with preventative maintenance,
for people otherwise unable or unwilling to do so.

For the benefit of OE users please try to use the identical Subject:
line when you do this. FYI this one has a trailing space which makes
it sufficiently different that OE users have to sort by Subject in order
to group this with your previous thread (which BTW was responded to
by Obi-Wan Kenobi).

Best and easiest way is to use the Windows Security CD, it
has all the critical patches for all Windows versions and is
current to about a year ago now. Then get the newer
Critical updates.

Ah, didn't see the trailing space. I'll try to be more careful.

Too bad for OE though. Subject lines should never be used to track
messages, they are not unique. Onl;y Message-Id's should be used.

Interesting. I didn't know of this. They have them for all versions of
Windows? Then only XP is a problem, as i could download the IE patches
myself. And for XP, perhaps I could use SUS.

Thanx for the info.
