Congratulations on your persistence!
Isn't Windows a wonderful thing?

This is why I always do an export of a registry key before playing

I'm guessing you'll be doing the same henceforth.

If you mess about in the registry then you must have ERUNT:
http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/
You can backup or restore the registry anytime.
