After a soft reset of the iPaq, it recognised the data was already
synchronised, so that problem is now solved.
About your question, yes, I have Windows Defender and AVG anti-Virus. Do you
think this may have been the cause?
Something else I should add, I wes running ActiveSynch version 4.1 when I
originally had these problems. Now I have installed 4.2
