Microsoft says there is a hotfix available, but does not say how to obtain it
without charge! My Vista installation support has expired. To find it I
yahooed "fwpkclnt.sys Datestamp 4549b2f6." If anybody else has remaining
installation support I'm sure they can get the hotfix. Thanks in advance for
either posting the microsoft hotfix link or if it isn't available, uploading
it to Rapidshare.com and posting the download link. In the meantime I'll be
booting Windows XP Home instead.

I finally relocated the Knowledge Base article about the problem. It's
#931365.

I managed to request the KB931365 hotfix from Microsoft by going to the
following url:
https://support.microsoft.com/contac...1410&WS=hotfix
, and waiting an hour for a link to be posted where I could download it.
However, the hotfix refused to install. I can only conclude that though the
KB931365 hotfix replaces the fwpkclnt.sys file and would probably solve the
fwpkclnt.sys BSOD error, some of its other intended replacement files do not
exist in my 32 bit Vista Home Premium installation. This implies that the
Microsoft KB931365 hotfix is specifically crafted to solve only one subset of
the fwpkclnt.sys BSOD problem. Again, I am reluctantly returning to my
Windows XP Home boot until Vista matures a little more.
