Well, Edward, thank you for a very astute response to our "troubled"
discussion member. And please accept my gratefulness for all of those folks
like yourself who actually respond to help requests. I have to say that it's
very frustrating to use a discussion group where one would think that someone
would respond only to find out that no one responded, not even an additional
inquiry (until this discussion occurred and "aa" finally asked what was the
original problem). And if you are interested, you might want to scroll back
or up to see all of the info I received from my post at CNET's Windows XP
forum at help.com. I don't know if I will actually succeed based on the
advice, but it's all very good advice about checking and maintaining one's
computer. And I am very sure that it will be useful for many other things in
the future. The unfortunate thing to me is that none of the info came from
any source here at Newsgroups in direct response to my inquiry and help
request. (Oh, I'm sure that if I spent a great deal of time searching
Newsgroups, I probably could have cobbled the information together, but how
inefficient is that?)
