Open Windows Live Messenger after you ahve been signed in and select -
Tools/Options/Sign-in Tab: remove check marks from "Automatically run Windows
Live Messenger after I log on...", "Open WLM main window....", "Allow automatic
sign in...", and "Show Windows Live Today"
Close the WLM window after clicking OK.
Sign out of MSN and close it. Sign back in - the Messenger window should no
longer launch, though you will be signed in via MSN Explorer.
