same problem I had, most free sites for themes and programs package them with adware. It installs without warning along with the freeware. I found nortons antivirus removes some but tried spybouncer and it cleaned my system with no problem. In addition to what I knew was there , there were about 6 other programs hiding in the registry giving me popups eveytime i went online slowing my computer considerably. I tried spybouncer as a demo and it listed all the registry entries and files that were adware but demo wont remove them, so after spending time tracking and deleting I gave up and bought it...
