So, what do i do to coreect this problem. Because I have had thic computer
since last november and i have never been able to do ANY update. I even
erased everything on my computer by putting the starter disk in and after
that, i still could not get any new updates..please help

Now that you've told us "the rest of the story," see...

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation
