Does everything work OK if you don't set it up for automatic sync?

They may have disabled AUTD (they being your hosting company) - check
with them to see if they have it enabled (I know some I've seen charge
extra for the privilege).

I think the answer may lie on the other end. You can try re-setting up
the server settings (disable, then reconnect).
