If you have your Mail Client synchronize with the account again (i.e., do
another Send/Receive), does the Messenger behavior persist?

Greetings,

Unless it's been added non-standardized, POP (the protocol) had no ability to "set" messages
as read or not, so there shouldn't be any expectation that the messages should get set to
read when they're left on the server.

Only other protocols like IMAP and HTTPMail/Deltasync (Outlook Connector) have this
capability.
