FYI IE7 does not support *maintaining* pages offline but you *can* use it
to view pages offline--at least in XPsp2, even if IE7 is installed.

Does Vista still have the special folder %windir%\Offline Web Pages?
That's how offline web pages can still be maintained in XPsp2.
E.g. the folder contains nothing but a Desktop.ini file and any offline web pages
shown in it are stored in the registry under this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Webcheck

IE9 is the version that enables one to time travel on the web, visiting
sites past and future: it has very strong forwards compatibility

If they throw in transporter technology too, we'll really have something...
When I was doing product support I used to explain to customers
who wanted me to get on a plane that if we only had Star Trek's
transporter tubes I'd be happy to visit because I could be there
"in a flash"... ; )

still exists though. And no, unistalling IE7 will not make IE6 reappear
(magically). How do I sole my problem?

Well it should do. You have re-booted?
Try a restore point prior to the installation of IE7....

It did during the IE7 betas. Uninstalling IE7 resulted in IE6
reappearing. The OP should try uninstalling IE7.

No, he said it WILL NOT reappear, implying he did not try it.

In any case, I just uninstalled IE7, and IE6 DID reappear! So I have to
believe that he did not try it.

Add/Remove programs. You can uninstall IE7 (from XP, doubt Vista)
just like any other app.
