Try resuming from sleep mode and load IE8 in its no add-ons mode. Could
be you have a defective or incompatible add-on installed (or that you
migrated when updating from a prior version of IE).
Start looking at what security products that you installed which may
interfere or interrogate your web traffic. Could be one of them, like a
firewall with app rules, is ****ing up. See what happens if you load
into Windows' safe mode (which often does not load or disables the
security programs PLUS it eliminates all the other startups you
installed), let it go into sleep mode, resume from sleep mode, and then
retest IE to see if it has immediate connectivity.

Please stop spamming Usenet with your particular choice for an
anti-virus security product. Configure ESET to *not* append its spam
promotional signature (which really is NOT a signature because there is
no sigdash delimiter line which means the BODY of your post has been
spamified) -- unless, of course, you really want to be viewed for all
your posts as their spamming affiliate. Besides, it makes you look
stupid. Oh yeah, because some text got appended to a post surely makes
it perfectly safe, uh huh, sure.
