It hasn't been a known issue until your post. And, since it is only
happening to you, something is wacky in your network.

Ok but if there is a bug here, what makes you believe that it will
be fixed? There is a next version available that does not expose the
problem. So it already has been fixed.

I think you have to choose between living with the problem and rolling
out the fix. Or do you see other solutions?

I think the implication was that you already know this is not a problem
with IE8, only with IE7.

IE8 was rolled out not just as an improvement (as such) but also
addressing bug fixes.

IE8 is now the "standard" and IE9 is already indevelopment. Whether IE9
will be back compatible to W2K and XP is yet to be seen.

IE6 is already a red-headed step child and many sites are starting to
abandon support for it. YouTube is an example.

So your solution is to "upgrade" to IE8. If that continues to be a
problem then it's likely your network.

There will be no bug fixes or improvements to IE7. That is a dead
product the same as all of its predecessors.

You may also want to consider that IE is not your only browser to
consider.

I think his issue is that he has applications that are "not yet certified
for use with IE8". However, considering that IE8 has been on the
market for longer than a year already, and that it has been available
for testing even longer, the support for those applications is
apparently in a very sad state. When they have not certified it in
well over a year, when will it be certified at all?

Not nice when a supplier can hold back the rollout of new software in
the company like that...

(there are companies that are still stuck to IE6 because of bad webapps)
