Always state your Windows version when posting to a MS newsgroup, please.

Without knowing which updates you installed, there's no way anyone here can
help you, LN. You may want to start a free Windows Update support incident
request: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

[If it were my machine, I'd uninstall any/all Norton applications and run
the Norton Removal Tool before I'd cast any blame on a Windows Update for
the problems.]
=============================
Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB123456).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

Sorry for the lack of info, I am using Windows Vista. I have already tried
completely removing Norton just as you said but no luck. The technical
support at HP told me this was occuring due to an update reconfiguring how
IE7 operated on my system. He said there was just a compatibility issue with
an update I received and my operating system? They also tried blaming the
problem on my ISP several times and each time I would call my ISP and check
out everything they were saying but my ISP insisted it was a corrupt browser
and would refer me back to the manufacturer and the last time I spoke with HP
they said it was due to an update but they did not know which one? I did try
unistalling a few of the updates that I knew affected IE but still no luck. I
even paid for a service call from my ISP so they would come out and check
everything but they said everything was working properly. I just can't get
any help from HP as to what update would be causing the problem and I have
called them at least 25 times since 1/30. My computer is still under warranty
but it is like they can't do anything more after reformatting my system
because everything works properly until I install the updates and they don't
know which update it is so what more do I expect them to do? Is it possible
that there is a problem somewhere inside my CPU even though it works
correctly before updates?
