[crosspost to IE General & Windows Update]

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista x64 SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup.

What updates are failing to install or being offered again? Cite the KB
number(s) for each update.

Actually failed to install, but says it did:

Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista
Important 6/23/09
Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista

Installation date: ‎7/‎13/‎2009 2:11 PM

Installation status: Successful

Update type: Important

Windows Vista Home Premium, SP1

When I go to Control Panel-Programs-Programs and Features-Installed Updates
Last program to update was on 6/24/09 which wasn't IE8

I am so confused,
thanks,
Jean

[To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you quote all of the
previous message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup, Jean. Thank you.]

1. Open IE | Click on HELP | Click on ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER | Is
v8.0.6001.18697 or v8.00.6001.18702 displayed here? If not, STOP and tell
me so; If it is, keep reading...

2. Now open Windows Explorer [WinKey+E] and navigate to C:\Program
Files\Internet Explorer <=this folder | In that folder, right-click on
IEXPLORE.EXE | select PROPERTIES | select VERSION tab | Copy the displayed
version here to your clipboard then paste it into a reply to this message.
