Please post problems with Internet Explorer in an IE newsgroup
and give sufficient version information so that we don't have to waste
time asking about it.

FWIW the most likely explanation is interfering third-party programs.
If this was XP I'd say you were crashing in kernel32.dll and usually
that implicates a caller, not the crashing module. So the possible tacks
you could take would be to diagnose the crash by getting better diagnostics
or assume that third-party programs were implicated and use the standard
troubleshooting tools for eliminating them when retesting.
