Among other things? You didn't say "please".

Actually, to really put my money where my mouth was I'd have to be a
hirer and make public the terms of the contracts my employees were
expected to sign.

The terms of transactions taking place in the marketplace should be
everyone's business. It's been shown that markets become more efficient
the more all of the participants know about the exact products, prices,
and terms and conditions applying.

"Confidential", in a business dealing, is synonymous with "we've got
something to hide". At best, it's trade secrecy of some sort -- an
attempt to hide some innovation from their competitors, which if
successful holds back progress. At worst, it means they're up to dirty
tricks of some kind, or even just keeping various things "confidential"
out of hide-bound tradition, in a cargo-cultish fashion without even
understanding what confidentiality is *for*.
