Can you try going into Device Manager and deleting the USB peripherals
and root devices and reboot? It should hopefully re-create them after
this point.

Also, ensure that nothing else is running at the time - virus scanner
is disabled, etc.

Sorry - got confirmation from Chris De Herrera, a fellow MVP who runs
the cewindows.net site and a fellow expert in ActiveSync. He's seeing
the same problem - it is a problem with Virtual PC, and unfortunately
ActiveSync is not supported when running under Virtual PC. A
resolution probably isn't going to be forthcoming soon, sorry.

You are running VPC for any special reason or just for the Pocket PC?

Your options would be using a full PC to run your apps, instead of
emulation. But since you say you want to leave the PC world behind, then you
can try PocketMac to sync your Pocket PC to your Apple Mac.

I have managed to install active sync on a mac running virtual pc 7 running
windows 2000 sp4, the program does hang at 92%, however I left it for over a
2 hour's and it finally installed, the version I installed was 3.7, however
another problem is when it looks for devices on the usb, it cannot find my
Ipaq 2210, even though it is shown as a unknown device. So I am no further
forward. I also installed XP as a virtual PC and have the same problem ,
this to hangs at 92%, but for a couple of hours.

Martin.
