Hi, I need your help!!
I have a brand new notebook with Windows Vista installed and IE 7. I have
working on setting it up with and some of the installations seem to have mess
up Internet Explorer 7. I notice it should be some kind of virus or spyware
installed as an add-on in IE 7 because when I run IE 7 without add-ons the
problem is gone. All posting and recommendations says remove, delete or
de-activate the add-ons by using ADD-ON MANAGER, but when I try to use it, it
crashes, so I can never get through.
Symptoms: if you open IE 7 and get for instance into google, something runs
under and takes control of your browsing. These “guys” have played smart so
if you normally google “Microsoft” google will bring you back a series of
links related to Microsoft in a sequential pattern according to what google
computes is the best sequence. If I do that in Mozilla Firefox the google
answers make sense and is identical to the goggle answers when running IE 7
without add-ons, but when running normally the first link would be
Microsoft.com, the second a PORN picture, and the third on a “warning message
fomr google” saying you are infected and download “ieDefender” at
www.iedefender.com
The most updated version of Norton antivirus cannot find it neither remove
it, there no literature on the web about this threat “ieDefender”, seems
new.. I think, I cannot use ADD-ON MANAGER. I also read that I cannot
uninstall and re-install IE 7 because is in-bedded in Vista… so what should I
do or where should I go? Is there any way to search for add-ons installed in
IE 7 and remove them by hand? (back door) I read it is complicated…
ANY COMMENT WILL BE REALLY APPRECIATED!!!
THANKS!!
Pedro
