After receiving a few up-dates microsoft security and driver updates, Windows
Media player 11 will not start at all. I did a restore point to an eairlier
time the program works fine until I hook up my mp3 player. I would like to
remove the current instalation and start over, I believe I have a corrupted
file. The player seems to work fine until I try to sync it. Any info OR link
to re-install? Thanks

It's not possible to reinstall WMP on Vista, you can only try to
reinstall Vista itself. However, running System File Checker will
usually be enough to repair corrupted files. Find Command Prompt in the
Start Menu, right-click it, select Run As Administrator, and type the
following:

/sfc scannow

Press Enter and let it run until it completes.

Regards

Ugh, I shouldn't have copied/pasted the incorrect command from a
previous post of mine, sorry. I accidentally put the slash at the wrong
place, the correct command is:

sfc /scannow
