Hi Eric,

Make sure All computer and devices point to the SBS server as the DNS
server, even the router. Then configure the DNS server on SBS to forward
request that is not for your internal domain to the ISP's DNS server. This
way all request for internal resources get served by your SBS server's DNS
and all external request (www.microsoft.com) will get forwarded to your
ISP's DNS server.

My guess is your client computers are getting their IP address from the
external router. Change the DNS settings on the external router to point to
the SBS server and then add the forwarders on the SBS DNS server.
