HI Simon,
I also have an iPaq 6515 and seem to quite frequently get the device
unrecognized message. I have noticed it always happens when the TomTom
setup routine has crashed for some reason and goes off into the weeds
leaving a big mess. I find a re-boot of the desktop is necessary, and
then it usually sorts itself out.
