Is it a Vista issue or just an iTunes issue? You may be in the wrong forum.
Are you able to add the copy to your PC and run it with WMP?
iTunes is an Apple product and hates MS by design. I installed iTunes and
it does annoying stuff, like trying to automatically 'synch' my iPod and
disconnect it so Windows won't recognize it for any other program to update
it, while my iPod (other Apple product) isn't recognized properly by WMP
when I do completely disable iTunes so it's not forcing the iPod to
disconnect. My Sony MP3 player works fine in WMP, not so well in iTunes.
Stick with Apple, or stick with MS. If your digital copy works with WMP,
you may want to uninstall iTunes. If you also have an iPod which requires
the iTunes, you may want to disable the iTunes. Avoid using iTunes on an MS
OS if at all possible. If it's just iTunes having the issues, look for an
Apple forum.
