Yes, I had the problem from the first patch and this new patch corrected it.

I had tried the registry fix alone earlier, but it didn't work by itself.

So this new patch must be more than that

I can attest to the fact that installing KB946627 *did* resolve the IE6
crash issue on my neighbor's laptop after the installation of KB942615.
