You need to check that all the monitors connected are HDCP compliant.
http://www.digitalconnection.com/FAQ/HDTV_12.asp

Some have reported that if you unplug the computer's monitor, the video will
play on the big TV.

What brand and kind of TV set?
Are you sure that the Linksys Extender is working with Media Center?

Have you ever seen pictures via the Linksys Extender on your TV?

Any TV program seen on the Media Center Computer is Digital, even if the
original signal was analog. Media Center only uses MPEG which is why the
requirement of a hardware encoder in the tuner.

I am not sure if the older XP extenders can decode and play HD MPEG2 files
and since the source of these is always a digital broadcast the extender
displays a poorly worded error message.

Curious had this to say:

I am not sure if the older XP extenders can decode and play HD MPEG2 files
and since the source of these is always a digital broadcast the extender
displays a poorly worded error message.

I may agree with him. I don't know what model Linksys extender you have,

On top of that I am not sure your TV is HDCP compliant, The Specifications
do not mention HDCP, so a two year old TV may not be.

Do you have the TV connected with the HDMI connection?
If so do you have a Component output from the Linksys Extender, if so try
the component output.

Do not use the S-Video connection, S-Video is SD only.

Component cables as in YPbRr Video. The three cable connection.
That should work.

This cable and connection.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video

and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YPbPr

If none of these suggestions work, I would strongly suppect your Linksys
extender is not good for HDTV.

Is this the extender you are using?
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/DMA2100

Or is it an older model?

If you have only your monitor connected can you watch the recordings using
the Extender?
What resolution are you trying to use over what interface to what make/model
TV from the Extender?
Can you play the MC sample program recordings or any programs that were
recorded using the analog tuner on your 1600 card on the TV?
