Greetings Ken,

Just for sheer testing purposes, why don't you both try downgrading back to the 8.5 (2008)
version? You can quickly do so just by uninstalling Live Messenger via the Windows Live
Suite options in Add or Remove Programs/Programs and Features in the Control Panel and then
downloading and running the following Microsoft Installer file:

Jonathan or Anyone else who may be able to assist,

I just installed Live Messenger 2009 upgraded from 8 and now I can't sign-in
and I don't get any error messages. I am using XP with windows firewall and
Kasperksy Anti-Virus 2009. I attempted the install with both the firewall
and AV disabled addtionally, I have already checked the firewall and have
exceptions for C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe
C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\livecall.exe
C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe

I checked under the Live Messenger Services - Connection Status and see a
message:

You are currently not connected to .NET Messenger Service

Any suggestions, before I roll back to version 8?

Thanks in advance!
