Greetings Mike,

After it signs you out, can you just not sign back in without restarting Messenger entirely?
If you do, what happens?
Just trying to determine whether you have an actual Messenger problem or just some sort of
connectivity problem.

As a brief guideline though, always a good idea to upgrade your router's firmware to any
newer versions (if available). Also, it would be helpful to know if this just started or its
always been doing this. Any recent networking changes?

There aren't any specific settings in XP or in a Linksys router that would cause this to
happen though.

Hi Mike,

If it's "grayed out", that just means that your password is saved. The sign in button will
be underneath and if that's not showing, you need to resize or maximize the window.

One thing I forgot to mention is you might just try resetting your Linksys router. In a lot
of cases these residential routers can run out of memory and then end up displaying odd
behaviour, like dropping connections.
