I'm not a developer, and this question is best suited for the .Net Framework
newsgroups (which I cross posted), but the only thing I can think of as a
non-developer, is where is this map coming from? Another source (such as an
outside website) or something internal under a folder, which may not have
the correct permissions on it? If an outside source, it's possible that they
require authentication, but since it is not a Windows-based authentication,
it will not popup the logon box.
(cross-posted to microsoft.public.dotnet.framework and
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet newsgroups)
I don't know if Google Groups supports cross-posting, or the ability to
reply-all to all newsgroups. When replying, make sure the additional groups
are in the Newsgroups list so you can reply to anyone that responds from the
other groups I cross-posted it to. If it doesn't work that way, I suggest to
use a newsreader. XP has one built in, Outlook Express, as well as Vista and
7 called Windows Mail. Just create a news account, and select
news.microsoft.com as the newsgroup server, then select the three groups
that this is posting to. It's completely free, you can remain anonymous, no
logon required, and has much more features than Google Groups. And don't
forget where Google groups pushes/pulls post from - the Microsoft Public
Newsgroups. So why not go directly to the source?
