Hi, Ross.

Microsoft is closing down ALL these public newsgroups and closing their
server by October 1, 2010. Many NGs closed on June 1 and many more on July
1. They have repeated the announcement several times in all their
newsgroups. Look for posts by . In their latest post
here, dated 5/19/2010, they repeated this URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.mspx

They never created any Win7 NGs here; they point Win7 users to:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...egory/w7itpro/

Only a few have sprung up on Usenet. One that I frequent (although the
trolls have found and almost ruined it already) is: alt.windows7.general

Microsoft wants us all to use FORUMS, not newsgroups, in spite of all our
efforts to save the NGs. :>(

I'm sorry I can't solve your Magnifier problem. It works for me. :^}

I did not notice any goods specifically for Windows 7; so this might not be
the right place -- if not please direct me as to where to go...

for some reason when I tried to go to use the magnifier I get the attached
error message (it is a JPEG) -- what is causing that and how do I solve it?

Thanks!
Ross
