Re: messenger runs like a lame dog

Further information - I tried running the registry fix supplied by Jonathon
Kay for another problem -

It made things a little faster, but now emoticons sent to me by a contact
don't work, they just show the text types by the contact although if I type
the same text back they work perfectly. Wtf?

This policies key is related to contacts, it should not affect emoticons.

I know this sounds silly, but have you tried a reboot?

I rebooted two or three times already - made no difference at all.

I have fixed the problem by completely uninstalling messenger and
re-installing.
