Why can't you? Virtual PC works fine on every version of Windows Vista. I
use it all the time in preference to the "other" available virtual systems
out there.

I would say VPC can be system of choice for Win guests,
but not so sure for Linux guests.
Here I prefer VirtualBox 2.x, others VMware
( but it is not free AFAIK, at least workstation is not )
