Hello spec_r,

Do you use a MS DHCP server? Then configure the scope options with option
006 and add there the DNS server.

Best regards

This is the behaviour when adding a computer to a new domain. It gets a
pristine profile ready to accept the security/group policies of the new
domain.

There are ways to grant the user access to the old profile. Or as admin you
can copy over files within the profile.
FYI upgrading allows the clients to see the upgraded domain as the same
domain and no need to rejoin them to the new domain and no new profile is
greated.
