Re: More on 0xf0f1/0x8007f0f1/0x8024000c [...dload fails for v5 WU and

I am experiencing similar problems since last Friday (9/3). I have
Windows XP SP1
installed with the latest hot fixes downloaded unsing Windows Update.

For over a week I've had the update notification in my tray showing
that
SP2 was availabe to be downloaded. Last Friday, I backed up all my
files,
set up a restore point, removed spyware (using Ad-ware 1.03) and ran
my
virus checker (AVI free version). Then I rebooted the computer, and
since
then the upadte notication icon doesn't show up any more, and when I
go to
the Windows Update site (v5) nothing shows up.

The WU log shows error 0x802400c (see relevant lines below):
