Good analogy. The experiment was incredibly deceptive, as it changed
the whole context of the software demo. The testers were everyday
people with not technical knowledge who believed that they were using a
new and experimental version of Windows. This idea that they were
test-driving an unreleased OS probably lowered their expectations a bit.

When these test subjects were seated behind a fresh Vista install,
probably running on top-of-the-line hardware and devoid of any
third-party software, they were amazed to see that this "new and
experimental" Microsoft OS was actually somewhat functional. Their
initial reaction of surprise probably hadn't quite subsided by the time
they were told they were running Vista, hence the positive reception
shown in the commercials.

Either that, or they had it running on a workstation-quality machine
which would have resulted in higher performance than would be typical on
the average consumer-grade PC.

It's a idiotic analogy but keep on slurping the nym shifting freetard.

Prove that these people have no technical knowledge. Unless you have their
resume and background information you know absolutely nothing about these
people.

> who believed that they were using a new and ...

How in the the world would you know what these people believed or didn't
believe. Unless you were there and talked to the people you have absolutely
ZERO idea of who these people are and what they believe.

After takin' a swig o' grog, Nick Ballard belched out
this bit o' wisdom:

It's an age-old trick, pulled by developers since developing existed:
the rigged, scripted, and foolproof demo.
