Re: W2K (SP4)
I updated & ran with version 2.0 - & am focusing upon 3 critical security
updates reported missing:

1. MS07-040 NetFramework2.0 - KB928365
As a result of repeated WindowsUpdate failures I previously used all the
Microsoft protocols to properly un-install all NetFramework folders without
any problems - & reran Windows Update which then reported all the
NetFramework packages as available for non-critical 'optional' user
updating.
QUESTION: Why then does the Baseline Analyzer report KB928365 as a missing
'critical security update?'

2. MS03-011 (816093) MS VM
Long ago I 'hid' this from Windows Update because on repeated attempts to
install Windows Update reported it was a "protected system component
requiring a later release of OS or service pack"
QUESTION: Any explanation for this?

3. Rollup 1 for SP4 (KB891861)
I had updated this more than once - successfully & just to make sure - I
had the Wizard update again & the update was again reported a success.
QUESTION: How many times do either WinUpdate or the Security Analyzer get to
cry "Wolf?"

Note: I will not try to post on the MS WinUpdate forum as it seems to have
died & is yet to be buried

Cheers, Happy Holidays, & thanks - Blithe
