RE: MS will not let me update

Try installing the AU client manually from:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=43264
with the /wuforce switch.
and install the latest version of BITS and WinHTTP from:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842773

Then try again.

If that fails, you can dowload the Service Pack manually from
download.microsoft.com and then try after that.
