No idea definitely related to the problem, but are you
aware that it's generally a bad idea to have two or
more antivirus programs installed on the same computer,
since they often interfere with each other? (This does
not apply to antispyware programs, which usually do
NOT interfere with each other.)
Also, if there's ever been a Norton or McAfee
antivirus program installed on the computer (even a
trial version that will no longer run), the normal method
for uninstalling those programs is not thorough enough,
so you need to download and run a special program
for completing the uninstallation?
Your monitor problem MIGHT be due to a normal
screeensaver which blanks the screen so many minutes
after you stop doing anything with the mouse or the
keyboard. If so, just moving the mouse a little should
be enough to make it show the screen again.
