Probably the tech.
He may have messed up a wire, a circuit board or flexible connector
trace, or a connector. Or if you're lucky, the tech just left some item
poorly connected, but not damaged.
The reason your screen shot doesn't show the artifacts is that it's not
a screen shot but a copy of the buffer containing the screen image.
When I read your subject line, I thought at first that you wanted to
*buy* LCD artifacts :-)
Well, in a sense you did :-(
