Since pre-release versions of Vista do not qualify for Vista rtm upgrade
edition pricing, you
(1) can purchase a full edition of Vista or
(2) restore a previous version of Windows and purchase a Vista upgrade
edition.
I assume your RC1 is Vista Ultimate so if you do (1) it needs to be an
Ultimate edition if you want to use the upgrade functionality. Any other
edition and the upgrade option will be disabled and you will only be able to
do a custom install.
If you decide to do (2) simply use the Windows Easy Transfer wizard to save
your files and settings, install whichever edition of Vista is right for you
by whatever method and then restore your files and settings using WET again.
You would then have to reinstall your apps.
