Help! I have Hotmail Live. It seems that I have too many folders, but I would like to consolidate folders by way of making sub-folders. When I try and create a "New Folder" and click "Save" I always get the message, "You have exceeded the number of Folders allowed". How can I get around this message and create sub-folders? Help!

I logged in to one of my Hotmail accounts, and clicked on the "New Folder"
link. On the next page was a field for the name of the new folder, and
directly below a drop-down list of the existing folders. I was able to
choose an existing folder as the parent for the new folder, and the new
folder was created after clicking on "Save".

I don't know what the folder limit is, but it would appear that you have
exceeded that limit.

I presume you've tried to delete an existing folder, log off, log on,
and create a new folder (under Inbox)... does that work?

And the same procedure except placing the new folder beneath a personal
folder?

OP did not specify creating the folders as subfolders under Inbox, that I
can see.

So? That's irrelevant at this point. If you have a better path forward
then offer it up.

I tested six ways from Sunday on a user defined folder, and can create and
delete subfolders. If the OP wants to actually do it in the Inbox, I suppose
I could try it, and see if it works, or not. But, until I know the OP wants
to work from the Inbox, what I was able to do I was able to do.

I see no reason to test something that wasn't specified by the OP.
