http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100 applies for KB922770 too.

Many thanks for your quick response!

The article you quoted wants me to uninstall "all existing versions of the .NET Framework from the computer..." and then "reinstall the .NET Framework Version 2.0" only.

I thought that the various .Net Framework versions were not cumulative, so v2.0 did not include everything contained in v1.0 and v1.1. Was I wrong? Have I really only needed v2.0 all this time?

Uninstalling and re-installing just .Net Framework 2.0 will do the trick. No
need to uninstall earlier versions. By the way, I only run 2.0 and my old
apps that used 1.0 and 1.1 all seem to be working fine.

Yup, and use Windows/Microsoft/Auto Update afterwards to install the
security updates for .NET 2.0

> I thought that the various .Net Framework versions were not cumulative,

That's correct. Have a look into the "Applies to" section of the
article. Whenever the article mentions only ".NET Framework" you
should read it as ".NET Framework 2.0". So uninstalling .NET
Framework 2.0 via Software and reinstalling it afterwards, will
do the trick for you (most likely).

When i try to unistall i get " the installtion source for this product is
not available. Verify that the source exists and you can access it."
I have 1.1, 1.1 hotfix and 2.0 liste din add reove, all give the same error.

Do you have used any "Cleaning Tool"?
The "\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Micro soft .NET Framework 2.0"
folder is available on your system?

Hmmm, spybot, ad-aware spysweeper, CCcleaner( THAT may be the culprit, but I
don't know what it may have done), a-squared

Hi,

Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to uninstall .Net
Framework 2.0:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/

Then install .Net Framework 2.0 again using the download link
found here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100
