the client won't log any events other driver installs and spooler
terminations when making a connection. This is the error

winerror 0x00000022
34 ERROR_WRONG_DISK <--> 0xc0000012 STATUS_WRONG_VOLUME

is the server x86 or x64? Have you applied SP2 to the print server?

Is this for a specific printer or all printers on the server?

If it's just one printer, I have a feeling there is a portion of the printer
registry key that may be pointing to an invalid file location.

Take a look at the printer reg key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Printers\"Printer
Name"
