If the same reader workis under Windows then Linux *IS* to blame and no end
user is going to see it any other way.

Except a Linux loon of course.

Ah yes, the old idiot's fallacy: "If it works under Windows, but not under
Linux, Linux is to blame".

Tell me, does it hurt to be so stupid?

If Windows is so great then why do you have to compensate for your
wonderful OS by coming here and talking out your ass?

Go **** off and enjoy your "wonderful" OS.

* Richard Rasker peremptorily fired off this memo:

Indeed. Most people will understand the situation if you explain it to
them:

"You see, Microsoft has cornered the market through various means,
and so the first thing a hardware maker will do is make sure their
product works under Windows. Some savvy hardware makers will also
make sure it works under Linux, or at least uses common protocols,
or make sure to publish information that makes it easier for the
Linux /volunteers/ to figure out how to make the hardware work.
Others do not, and, unfortunately, xxxxx is one of them."

"Moshe", that sacrilegious name purloiner, likes to pretend to know how
people think. And he could be right, except for one thing -- people
have friends who care for them and will correct their misconceptions.

"Moshe", probably a loner, doesn't understand the concept of
"community".

I'm sorry that we have to have a Washington presence. We thrived during our
first 16 years without any of this. I never made a political visit to
Washington and we had no people here. It wasn't on our radar screen. We were
just making great software.
