File managers and file systems are not the same. eg windows explorer and
NTFS/VFAT are not the same.

Correct...
My bad....
I didn't read the message properly.

I always liked QDOS by Gazelle Software back in the DOS days.
Much better than Norton Commander.
Linux mc (I think that's the name) is sort of close to both of them.

Sometimes that's the best way of doing things, but you have to know what
you are doing or a lot of damage will be the result.
Like most powerful tools BTW.

I tend to stay from the gui tools for file management and tend to do it
all in emacs using dired. Takes some learning but with bookmarks and
other such utilities built into the editor locating things is a piece of
cake and fast as hell.
