(You forgot to quote the post you replied to: that poster suggested
that you wipe your drive and start over.)

What Mike Vandeman so kindly proposed was that you take action that
will cause you to lose all your work.

You could try system restore, as you propose - it might work better
from safe mode, if you have problems.

Otherwise find a way to get rid of the problem. You don't give much
info, though. Maybe you turned virtual memory (swapfile, pagefile) off.

Please be aware that the person who posted that BS under the name "Mike Vandeman" is impersonating me, obviously with malicious intent. It is probably a mountain biker. They are like that.
