Dear Alan, you say "extract a copy from your windows CD". Well I have a
similar problem, i.e. when i try to shut down i get a rundll.exe error and i
have to manually click on the "end now" button to shutdown. So... I thought
of finding the rundll.exe file and re-copying it back to its location (even
though I see a rundll.exe file there). Just for info though; i have Windows
XP and SP2 installed. I was unable to instal or copy the file back as it says
that the program is running (namely the file in question). I have since
uninstalled SP2 and reinstalled it but still the same error. Perhaps you
could tell me how to get it off the Windows CD since it won't install
anything on the CD ... the message is ... "what i have on the cd is older
than what is on the computer" (SP2). Hope you or anyone else could shed some
light on my problem ... otherwise i see no other option than to reformat the
hard drive and start all over!
