There is no doubt among reasonable people that almost any brand of linux is
more stable than Vista. The strike against linux is that it doesn't have the
heavy hitting business software that Windoze has.

I can't believe I'm getting involved in this.

Linux has far more "heavy hitting" software then Windows. That's
why very large enterprise sites use linux. Linux also has everything
an ordinary desktop user would want. Where it has major gaps is in the
power user department: those programs that require a great deal of development
and support but are used by a small number of individual users. Photoshop,
framemaker, things like that.

I'll disregard games while recognizing them as a major technology
and revenue driver since we ARE talking about work.

You have it all wrong.

Reasonable people don't use an INFERIOR product to do their work. This
includes distros of Linux. If a reaonable person tries to use a Linux
distro that person then becomes stupid. If you want to do real work you
need a real Operating System like Vista or XP.

If you want to waste your time and play around with cryptic commands, Ubuntu
is just fine for that type of amusement.

Horseshit. There's very little difference between openoffice
and msoffice, or firefox and ie, or etc. etc. etc.

I'm only counting people who use the program for more than cropping
pictures of their scotch terrier. Gimp does everything most people
need to do. It doesn't meet the needs of professional artists or
serious amateurs, the people who pony up what 700 bucks? for a real
Photoshop.

95% of 'users' of Photoshop are using Educational copies illegally, or
just plain pirated d/l'd copies to just crop those photos of their
scottish terriers.

(And they say Linux users are cheap/thieves !!!)

I don't deal with pirated software like yourself. You are right. There is
no need to deal with Torrents.

Man you're naive! At the torrents, you can see how many seeds and
leechers there are for PhotoShop. Remember, that what we were talking
about, not me, although you sure are obsessed with me, why?
