I realize that this is a really old topic, but has anyone ever
discovered a solution to this? I have the exact same problem, and it is
SERIOUSLY ticking me off. I want the Programs folders in the start menu
in a certain order, with a shortcut to the "Computer" (What used to be
called "My Computer" in older Windows versions) being at the top of the
list.
NOTE: I also use the Classic Start Menu, so the check box the MS fellow
was referring to is not available for me either.
However, upon reboot, and even randomly during use, the stupid Start
Menu resets itself to alphabetical order.
And the most annoying thing is that before I had to recently reinstall
Vista (Can you tell that I'm beginning to hate Vista...) the Start Menu
would stay in whatever order I wanted. But now, it has suddenly decided
that it should reset to alphabetical order without my consent.
Any help?
