Hi,
Did you try installing Outlook 2002 which shipped with the 8525?

You will need to reinstall ActiveSync after upgrading Outlook.

If this is ActiveSync 4+, it seems ActiveSync fails to create an Outlook
object. If detect and repair doesn't work, you may need to reinstall
Outlook.

Hi,
Other users have reported problems with Outlook 2000. So the only
suggestion I have is to try installing the latest service pack for Office
and then reinstall ActiveSync.

Please let us know if that works.

Thanks Chris for supporting us, poor faithful AS users.

I switched in Oct 2003 to an iPaq h2215 (Windows Mobile 2003 First Ed, aka 4.20), from a CASIO E-11. Current use with 2006 laptop, Win XP Pro Multilingual fully updated (SP2, IE7), Office 2000 Pro US.

It has been months now (or may be years...) that, each time I reinstall AS (which gets more and more frequent now that MS has stopped improving its products and now prefers crippling them more and more at each version), I have to go through the same stupid useless steps as making new partnerships, accepting to merge doubled records, canceling installing Outloook...

I can NOT, as ShawnStalker did, solve the problem by upgrading to OL2002: MS did all it could to prevent end users from upgrading from OE to OL, so my Office is used *exclusively* for contacts in PDA; this already causes enough problems, I don't need any more of them, and don't want at all "upgrading" to OL2002.

So, if one could find a solution to get rid of this reminders to install OL...

Thanks Chris for your help, and my apologies for late reply. Yes my Outlook 2000 had not all the updates. It has them now. So I keep your reply on record to use it next time I have to reinstall AS, I will then check if I still have the annoyances.
